Grönefeld, One Hertz

I’m pretty exited because Bart and Tim Grönefeld will visit my shop today.

One Hertz movement

After last years GTM-06 (which has an in-house minute repeater tourbillon movement), this year Bart and Tim introduced the One Hertz.

Bart and Tim

The One Hertz is the first Dead Beat Second which has a secondary gear train solely for the large second hand. Another very exclusive feature of the One Hertz movement is the use of stainless steel for all of the – extremely beautifully designed – bridges.

One Hertz

Again the One Hertz movement is a completely in-house developed movement indicating hours and minutes on a sub-dial at 2 o’clock, a large sub-dial for the deadbeat seconds filling the majority of the dial with a power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock, and a setting-winding indicator at 3 o’clock. Setting-winding is ergonomically selected by pushing the crown instead of pulling it out.

The One Hertz will be available in two versions, one – the One Hertz 1912 (12 pieces) – with a stainless steel casing, and the One Hertz Dune (20 pieces) version in 18 carat rose gold.

Find more information through and if there’s any more news after todays visit I’ll post it here of course.

Lunch with Bart, Tim and their father.
